BAML London vs. CS London
Hello everyone,
I have offers for Summer Associate position at BAML and CS, both in London. I come from an American MBA program and plan to move to London permanently after my MBA. Both offers are for investment banking division and I would rank my group preferences as:
1) M&A
2) CPG
3) FIG
Any thoughts on which would be a better spot given the fact that I come from a US school and have those preferences in mind. Also, I don't like Canary Warf very much so that is already one plus for BAML.
How do their deal flows compare on per head basis? Are there any red flags for either option (uncertainty with CS business model in the future)?
Thanks in advance!
If you look at EMEA league tables BAML >>>> CS by quite a margin. CS is cutting jobs in its IB division and refocuses on its core business, Private Banking. I might not be as bad as it seems but I think that BAML is in better shape, carries a better brand name and is higher in rankings.
CS Financial Sponsors group is known to be very good though.
BAML for absolutely sure
BAML without a question.
How is BAML's FIG seen in terms of PE/HF exits in London?
