is this a part of financial advisor or also known as brokerage job? Anyone got an idea of what exactly this group is like?
Not broker Work on product side. Sourcing, improving, due diligence, sales, competitive analysis etc... It also breaks down to what you're doing within each group: ie: In Alt Inv, you could be in: reporting, due diligence, sales, operations, administration etc...Every dept has sub groups.
So is it part of back office in BoA ML?
Why does it need 1 year of training?
Depends on what you are doing.. they might put you in sales, strategy, etc... which office will you be in? I might accept an offer for BAML GWIM..
I dont know how bofaml is broken down nowadays. The umbrella GIS is NOT ops. However, within GIS you will have ops divisions like I mentioned above. It all depends on where you get placed.
Why do you need to get trained? Do you already know the systems? the people etc..
whats career path for someone in strategy division for example? within the firm promotion or mba?
