Banks who recruit late

I started pursuing internships a bit too late - I'm a junior and wasn't totally sure what I wanted to do.

Either way, I'm doing everything I can to try and land a summer analyst internship but a good amount of firms I've been able to get in touch with have come back saying they're done recruiting for the summer. Does anyone know of firms who specifically recruit late? Trying to streamline my efforts on banks who are actually still recruiting rather than pursuing closed doors. Thanks

Anybody care to critique this cold call email?

My name is colorado, I am a junior at not-harvard studying economics. I would like to pursue an internship at your money factory. If there are any opportunities available, I would appreciate the chance to interview with your team.

I have worked as an administrative intern in the not finance industry as well as in the also not finance industry coordinating blah blah for a handful of not finance companies in not where you live. Additionally, I have competed in cool sport that isn't football at a professional level and collegiate level. Currently, I am the team captain of not harvard's not football team. Through this experience I have gained leadership and teamwork skills while learning how to set effective goals and achieve them through persistence and hard work. No task is too small or too large and I hope to have the opportunity to contribute in any capacity necessary to help your team succeed.

A copy of my resume is attached. I would value the opportunity to learn more about your firm and discuss my qualifications at your earliest convenience.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

In the end of the day, it is going to vary from person to person. I've sent cold intro emails that were 4 paragraphs long (with my resume attached) that sometimes got no responses, but also got responses from Global Heads and MD's. I've also sent shorter intro emails that have gotten ignored as well as responded to, but I don't think i've ever gotten a response without a resume attached (even though I had been advised to not attach one). What it comes down to is the type of person on the other end and there's no way of knowing what they specifically are looking for in an intro email, because every single person has different opinion and wants something different.

I would shorten the email but make it more focused on the person you are sending it to; by that, I mean ask questions about the firm or how he/she got into banking and advice to you about breaking into the industry. People love talking about themselves and if you give them the opportunity to do so, they would probably be more receptive to speaking with you. From there, if you explain your interest in banking and internship aspirations, and can have a nice conversation, they would be more willing to either hire you as an intern or introduce you to someone that may have openings. The worst the can happen - besides not getting a response - is you have a nice conversation with someone in the industry you can reach out to in the future. I hope that's helpful. Goodluck!

Biggest city I'm close to is Denver but I'm from South Florida so my best option for unpaid is if I can find something in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. With that said, I'm applying everywhere and if the best offer is somewhere other than S. FL I'll find a way to make it work.

I'm in a similar position to you. Applied to a bunch of BB positions mid-late January. Between then and now decided to pick up an accounting minor, so I'll have next summer as well, so I put networking on hold.

Next to some sort of miracle last week, I got an email from GS for a phone interview for IB this summer, without knowing anyone there, and going to a non-target. So take what you will out of that.
