I'll just assume this is an honest question... However, OP is not clear on what this experience should be better for? To land a job in a BB front office? To go straight to PE or to potentially move to PE after IB?

Broadly speaking, if the name of that MM PE fund will at least ring a bell with other PE funds and banks in your geographic target area, then that experience will be more worthwhile than BB backoffice.

The reason being that the work you will do there will be more related to what you will do in any front office role. One caveat: if you do PE and then apply for IB positions, it looks quite obvious that you might make a move to PE as soon as they come knocking...
