Urgent Lateral Help | RX from BB M&A Group
Team (lol),
I will be interviewing with a boutique for a RX analyst position. This would be a lateral hire from a BB M&A group. I have never interviewed for restructuring. If anyone could shed some light on this, I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance!
If you read and understand Distressed debt analysis by Stephen Moyer, you should have a good understanding of RX as a whole.
^Great book.
Corporate and Financial Distress by Edward Altman is also a good reference.
BIWS has a restructuring guide, HL also has a case study published on their site I believe.
BB M&A 1st Year Analyst Switching to RX (Originally Posted: 10/22/2015)
Currently a 1st Year in a mid-tier BB M&A Group in NYC but more interested in distressed HF for my exit - how do I make the switch to a top RX group (Laz, HL, BX, Rothschild)? Seems like I would probably be at a disadvantage compared to the folks at these top RX groups?
My bank has a small RX unit but its mostly senior guys and it doesn't seem like they do much RX work.
Do i need to go into RX first or can I stay in my current group and recruit for distressed HFs?
... Refracted then :(
