If you managed a personal online clothing business, shouldn't that belong in work experience? You can talk about revenues, clients, etc. Even though it's not exactly finance, looks better than not having any work experience at all.
For your M&A writing experience, you should be more specific in what you analyzed that could be applicable to a full time position. For example, did you analyze financial statements? What kind of deal structures - LBO vs. IPO? Did you use CapIQ or any other broadly used databases?
Just think as if you were a recruiter for FT IB; what skills would you be looking for that are transferable to your business? Write your experience on your resume that is specifically tailored to IBs.
