Brother Jimmy's

Based on OP's username, this is probably the spot for him. Natty Light tall boys out the wazoo.

Flashdancers.

Edit: in all srsness though, Bro Js, J tree, mercury, calicos, turtle, johnny utahs. Thats just off the top of my head. I hate them all, but nonetheless I believe they apply to ur ?

Anyone know if the Continental is less of a shithole than Blue and Gold Tavern? It looks a bit nicer on their website and apparently doesn't have the whole hipster thing going on. The urinal being less than 6 inches away from the sink at Blue and Gold is pretty fucking disgusting.

The things I put myself through to find a cheap place to drink in NYC....

Turtle Bay. HAHA. Oh man. I swear I will never step foot in that place after last summer. They still have the midget show because he showed up one night. What a shitshow. The atmosphere reminds me of a high school dance party, but they do have some good drink specials especially if one of your buddies in your group gets to drink for free. I immediately knew it was an intern bar when I saw a kid walking around with his bank gym bag.

Fact about Turtle Bay: Apparently it's rated NYC's #1 hook-up bar. [I would beg to differ]

Second whoever mentioned Dorrian's. But let's get real, no one wants to party on UES. B Bar is solid regardless of what anyone says, but do avoid Phebe's. Also if you are in that area, I'd try out Swift as well - awesome beer selection.

If you want to do meatpacking, I'd go to Brass Monkey, the Jane, or Westway. Westway is a pretty young crowd so if you are on your game, you should be able to pull some tail there. Also if you are a SA, you will go to Le Bain a lot. People have mixed opinions on it, but going there is just a fact of life in the summer.

For some weekday day drinking, I highly recommend Houston Hall. Place is pretty chill and you and your bros can sit, which is clutch if you are going to be drinking for a while.

Avoid anywhere in Murray Hill, and whatever you do, don't go to the 13th Step. I may get shit on for that, but I don't care. Don't go.

This is some of the most pretentious summer intern bar advice imaginable.

Go to meatpacking if you like standing in line for an hour so that you can pay out the ass for drinks and hang out with airhead floozies
