Best industry to move internally from Accenture Systems Integration to Accenture's MC

Hi all,

Do any of you Accenture or former Accenture employees know what the best industry to have projects in if I am trying to move from SI to MC at Accenture? The big ones at my office are healthcare, financial services, and communications. There are other industries that SI is involved in at Accenture, but none come to mind at the moment. I would imagine that financial services may be the best industry if one is trying to make the jump, but I would like an expert opinion.

Thanks!

I'm not Accenture, but Healthcare seems to be really focusing on IT solutions to a number of problems, ergo someone must be recommending IT solutions to their workflow. Maybe that is their operations consultants. Also, Healthcare as an industry seems to lag some of the others for adoptions of processes, so it might be easier to move around. They also love to have "clinicians" on the IT teams, meaning you'll have a chance to network with your clinical/Healthcare consultants more than in a more established industry.

Just my thoughts on it, with the caveat I'm not Accenture, nor did I make any move to get into MC. That is my experience working on Healthcare projects though.

TT

Accenture employee here. Industry doesn't matter as much as your projects and network. I've seen SI analysts with almost no experience do exceptionally well on a project that has visibility in MC (some of the projects are more similar than you'd think), make connections with senior managers in MC, then get requested to be staffed on their projects instead. Eventually, they become SI in name only and request a transfer to MC.
