Best Time to Contact Bankers for Job

After some time spent on networking and research, I received a few contacts which might help with job in finance. What do you think is the best time to approach them (August, September and etc.), counting that I am a senior in college? Also, I am looking for suggestions on how to approach them. Should I send a message directly asking for job or should I come up with something more creative?

The best time to network with bankers is as soon as possible. Full-time recruitment starts when the fall semester starts, so you'll want to make a few connections by then. Reach out to the contacts you made now, and see if they'll have time to have coffee as part of an informational interview. Be sure to have your story and resume straight; while you're not being interviewed, you're making an impression.

The email should read in such a way that it is explicitly just introducing yourself, but implicitly asking for a job. Something along the lines of "My name is Dave, this is my background, and I'm really interested in what you do." Keep the email short, something like 3-4 lines.

Attaching the resume will be your call; it depends on who you'll be emailing. If it's someone you know well or if you think they'll respond well with an aggressive intro, attach your resume. Otherwise, just focus on the introduction. If you're not sure, the default would be to attach your resume.
