Big 4 Audit to Financial Due Diligence

I am a big 4 senior in one of the major US city trying make a move into Financial Due Diligence. I am trying to transfer within my firm and also been talking to other Big 4 firms.

I have tried to spin some of my audit experiences for more finance and leadership points. Would really appreciate any feedback and suggestions on my resume.

Thanks!

Hey - pretty decent resume (from a big4 internal perspective).

content wise i'd maybe add skills relevant to financial DD - research, reviewing credit agreements / other legal documents, put together financial models (if applicable) etc.

Recently left big4 after 3+years, but knowing people who have successfully and unsuccessfully made the move, I can tell you a lot hinges on your offers from other firms. Internally, audit partners won't want to let you go (if your reasonably competent) so they tend to drag their feet in getting you in touch, and letting you get out if you do get the offer. Make sure you have some leverage (i.e. an offer or late stage talks from another firm) to put the pressure on.

Good luck

Thanks bank-on-this, i will try to add the skills and specific words related to due diligence.

I was wondering what do you think about the "Interest" section that I have at the bottom. I have been getting mixed comments on those, so still can't make my mind. When I was in school, there were few interviews where I talked a lot about soccer and Sudoku, so i think it can help build a connection during the interview. Besides, i am not sure what I can put there.

I thought about putting computer skills but don't know much besides basic ms office, oracle and hyperion or some other auditing softwares

What do you guys suggest?

Eh. I'm hit or miss... you need o have some good conversational peice to go with it though, otherwise no one cares. Enjoy mountain climing? Don't care unless you have climbed kilimanjaro and can tell me cool stories. 'Play pingpong?... that's nice. Ever make it to the olympics? Soduku?...okay, ever write a computer program to solve them?

Unless something is truly a conversation starter, required skills you'll need on the job, or unless you know your intervirwer has that in common, I'd leave it off.

I'm currently in the process looking to make a similar switch.. any insight you can give of areas that were good to highlight from your audit experience relevant to FDD? I would really appreciate it!!! I hope the switch went well for you
