Big 4 - J&J Financial Analyst

I'm finishing up my 2nd year in Big 4 audit specifically in the financial services industry. I have my CPA and a degree in finance so I wanted to transition into a financial analyst type role rather than keep working at Big 4 and be completely pigeon-holed into strictly accounting/financial reporting roles.

I'm looking at J&J, but a lot of the job postings are for a senior financial analyst. I know the jump from Big 4 to financial analyst roles is pretty common so I was wondering how many years at Big 4 would someone typically stay before jumping to a senior financial analyst role?

Thanks.

Hey,

Speaking for J&J only it largely depends on which team and role you are looking to get into. The graduates of our FLDP program typically end up getting promoted to SFA either at graduation or roughly 6 months after graduation (total of 2-2.5 years at J&J). Given that you have been working for roughly 2 years and have your CPA (J&J is huge on certifications) I highly encourage you to apply, you should be competitive for a lot of roles especially if it is at one of our OpCos.

I really appreciate the informative reply.

As far as the OpCo's, do you mean some of J&J's subsidiaries? Because I'm looking in the Philadelphia area and a lot of the job listings seem to be for positions at some medical device or biotech subsidiaries.
