Ok. Let's start typing out full words- and let's stop snarking at each other.
My biggest mistake was accepting too soon and not going out to find other offers first.
LOL u iz so slly IP
ditto.
This. I'm happy now but I pretty much accepted on the spot - didn't even test the market to see if I could get an offer elsewhere.
Er there's not a whole lot you can do after getting an offer that's a mistake...
Terrible Mistake With Exploding Offer (Originally Posted: 10/16/2015)
Hello all,
I received an offer from a great bank today in S&T. I really liked everything about it. However, I have a bunch of interviews in November and I wanted to try to meet the employees in those other firms and see the firms in person before I made a decision.
I accidentally sent out a bunch of emails telling those other firms that I had an offer but wanted to expedite my process with their firms--I sent this out to contacts who I have networked with. But I mistakenly mentioned the name of the firm I have an offer from.
Is this a terrible mistake? I know that word gets around in BB S&T quickly. I don't want the firm I have an offer from to think I want them the least. Would I possibly see my offer rescinded, and the contacts I spoke with slighted?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Pretty dumb but I don't think it's a fatal mistake. Work on your attention to detail as people are going to wonder if you should really be making quick decisions with large sums of money if you can't even do this right.
I don't think it'll be deadly, only if someone WANTs to be an ass.
I made a similar mistake. You're not going to hear back from them. Hope you're happy with your first offer - I'm glad I was.
Accepting an offer while sounded very much interested on the phone, and then reneging it 30 minutes later over email because I got a better offer.
