Biochemistry Grad With Pharma Experience - Competitive for Finance?
I am a recent grad with a BS in Biochemistry from a competitive school (GPA ~3.5), currently working in regulatory at a pharma company--challenging but very interesting work. Love my current position, but also interested in leveraging my scientific and industry experience toward a career in (pharma) M&A.
I don't have any finance experience but I'm sure I have more than the necessary quantitative background; interested in working hard and learning a lot. Curious whether my credentials would be competitive for applying for a new Analyst position--any thoughts?

Won't know if you don't try. Give it a shot and see what happens. Good luck man.
For people in your shoes it'll depend a lot on the market, and chance (if a healthcare group happens to need a new analyst off cycle), that said a demonstrated in finance will be key (networking, take CFA level 1, take night classes, do a MFin, etc).
