Anyone have information on BMO groups, culture, exit opps, chi vs ny? Appreciate any helpful advice.

Career Resources
From what I understand their Chicago office is focused on industrials, and their New York office has a strong ECM team. I know they have a few different groups at each location, but from what I know, (which isn't much) they have a collaborative culture. I didn't really click with their New York team (had a few interviews with them), they came off as though they thought they were a prestigious top BB. Don't get me wrong, it's a great bank, but it's no Goldman. This was also what I gathered from speaking to only a few people, so my sample size is small and may not be entirely accurate.

God, the elitism within finance is fucking absurd. To @uchicago321", if your goal is to get into investment banking, take whatever interviews you can get because it's not an easy career to break into. Do your best in them and keep an open mind, show interest, etc. Only be worried about "exit opps," culture, etc., when you have multiple offers because those don't come by often. If you have any doubts about the job regarding culture, work/life balance, etc., the career may not be your area (but read up on it nonetheless).
I completely agree with you. I really didn't mean to come off as elitist, and was honestly trying to give them my impression of the team. With that said I definitely did come off that way. Thanks for calling it out
For the record, I gave you an SB. It was good info for OP, but that one sentence of "thought they were prestigious....but they aren't Goldman" is the only thing I am talking about.

I think you're pretty on point here. My experience with them was similar.
I have to agree with you. Although I didnt have any interviews with the New York group I still left one of their networking luncheons with a bad impression. I got along with a lev fin MD and another industrials MD, but the rest (that I met anyway) came off as if they thought they were from a top BB bank. Everytime I asked a question they smirked as if what I said was "moronic". On top of that, none of the HR/recruiting staff bothered to reach back about the next steps. It was until like three more emails that they informed me that they will no long be recruiting for FT. Not trying to bad mouth them, but the whole process seemed jaded. Just my 2 cents.
