Bonds?

Hey,

I want to start as a Bonds and Forex analyst in an Asset Management firm, and step by step expand to other financial instruments. Can you tell me if there are specialized positions dealing with bond and currency markets in AM firms, what are those firms and what proficiency it requires?

Thank's.

Do you mean you want to do research on those products or do you want to eventually become a portfolio manager that does the actual investing?

Also, those topics are very broad. Just for bonds there are Mortgages, Munis, Distressed Debt, Investment Grade orporate, Sovereign Debt, Treasuries, and Short Term paper. When you start an as analyst you will be focusing on one of those products. Obviously all of the BB have these groups in their AM arms, but you should also do a search online for fixed income asset management firms and look at job sites.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."
