Bonus on sales earned not paid , fired for no cause

I received an offer letter at time of employmnet to be paid a bonus on achieved sales goals, "if the company had money paid in the bonus pool." The COmpany grew 38% while I was there, much to my sales efforts. am being laid off and told there is no money in bonus pool becasue they have reinvested back into the company. CEO says they have never paid a bonus to themselves and have always re-invested

is there a question here?

this sucks, there's no way around it. that being said, if you live in a "right to work" state, you can be fired for any reason unless it's a protected status (anti discrimination laws), so you don't have much recourse.

if you're a good salesman, you'll find work soon enough, dust yourself off and get back out there.

the issue is not being fired, the issue is leading me to believe they pay bonuses with an offer letter, should have been more up front on telling people they have always reinvested in the assets of the company
