How to Ask When an Offer Decision Will Be Made?
Hey guys, I had a second phone interview about 3 weeks ago and have not heard back from them yet regarding a decision. I did not ask the interviewer when I could hear back by, but he told me they would be in touch.
I do have his email and have been trying to type something out for the past 20 minutes but can't think of a way to word it.
Could you guys give me a little help?
Thanks!
Email Template for Asking for Offer Decision Timeline
First of all, it is important to wait an appropriate level of time before following up - 2 weeks after an interview is likely the appropriate amount of time. You can then shoot your interviewer or point person an email to check in to see when you can expect a response by. An example template can be found below.
Hello Mr./Ms. xxx,
I hope this message finds you well. I was just wondering if you could give me a time frame of when you expect to make your decision by. I am still very interested and I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
xxx

Hello Mr. xxx,

lol, been a while since I heard that one
There's been several times where I have done this (interviewed, sent thank you email, waited 2 weeks, sent this email asking when I should expect a decision), and I have been ignored. I am not sure if this is because they: 1. rejected me already but don't feel the need to send me a quick email to let me know 2. don't know the time frame, and forgot to find out for me / email me back 3. don't have time to answer emails, but are planning to get back to me later 4. simply missed my email
Which of these is most likely, and what would you do in this case? This is also relevant for the OP because it will also be his situation if his "time frame" email doesn't get a response.
Doesn't really matter what the scenario is, just continue to be persistent until you get a concrete answer from someone.
When did Macquarie IBD SA's receive offer decisions? (Originally Posted: 10/15/2008)
When did Macquarie IBD SA's receive offer decisions? Anyone know?
bump
they received them mid august i believe
Before their last day in August. To be clear, Macquarie is not an investment bank in the US, the correct term is Macquarie Capital Advisors (its a legal issue).
Boutique Firms - Wondering if anyone had a general idea (Originally Posted: 02/05/2013)
G'day everybody, long time lurker, first post. I was wondering if anyone had a general idea of when boutique firms let out decisions on their summer analyst positions. Specifically in the nyc area. I'm not too sure if they follow the same schedules as BB or not. Most of them just say "spring" as when they pick their analysts.
Thanks
