Boy, this turned out bigger than expected. Pleasure to meet you all!

Good morning!

Firstly I have to thank this website and every single one of you for the inspiration it has been since I found you 2 months ago ( specially on holidays, coming here daily - woohoo). Unfortunately my first post is not a contribution but rather a question, or advice-seeking situation:

I want to work on the buy-side (pe, hf, vc), probably passing through IB.

About me:

-I am on the second out of three years in my Bachelors in economics at a non-target (top 30 europe ft ranking)
-Going on an exchange program on fall for one semester to a target (think top 8 europe, ft)
-summer internship with the risk management team at a mm retail bank, last summer.
-Gpa of 3.3, although the system in my country is slightly different (for example, LSE requires a gpa of 3.2 for graduates from my country, compared to the 3.5 it states for uk students)
-Cv wise, not much - volunteer work, the usual excel and that sort of things.

Given this, I have a few questions:

I am currently trying to find a sa position in ib, but things haven't been too easy. Would you say it's time I started reaching out for possible connections and getting personal advice? If so, what kind of information would I ask for? (Company related, their daily routine, personal errors he/she made or just general "help"?)

Next semester, I can join an investment club (quite demanding, for a bachelors club) or try to find a part-time internship at a local ib boutique. Even thought the internship would be better, it would envolve a bigger slip in my grades, which isn't really advisble right now. Thoughts?

I also have been searching for masters in finance, and wanted to inquiry around what you guys would think my shot is at landing a major one ( think lse, hec, etc). I realise it would always be a long shot but with a high GMAT I could see it as feasible. Would love extra input though.

Finally, I would obviously welcome any advice you could spare, any impressions you have on what I could do or any questions, I would love to answer them!
