Breaking In - Hoping to hear your take
Hey guys, I'm fairly new to post, but have been a lurker for quite some time. Was hoping to hear your take on some career advice...
A lil bout myself. I just graduated from a non-target school, with a 3.9. I took L2 CFA exam (think i passed, knock on wood). I've had financial internships in the past and currently work at a very small boutique shop as an M&A analyst. I'm trying to move out of it, and have been having trouble finding opportunities. I know the market is dry, but I was hoping any of you know any good recruiting agencies or job sites (besides the usual; efinancial, doostang, and Vault). Thank you in advance for your assistance.

mike - need to elaborate on exactly what opportunities you are looking for, what location(s), what are you currently doing??
my advice would be to network, either with other alum from your school that may have broken into bulge bracket banking or by making friends of any friends you have that are in bulge bracket banking.
with that said, many of the layoffs are including many from top recruiting schools so why would any bulge hire you right now? plus, you have minimal banking experience as you "just" graduated so why would a bulge bring you on? probably you will have to wait until at least after the new year to get out of the small m&a shop but that's just a guess...
also, your CFA does not matter - no direct translation into banking skills/knowledge
