The Brooks Brothers Semi-Annual sale is probably my favorite sale. I love their shirts, in general, so I'm going to go snag a few in the next week. Is it a great deal? I mean, it's like a third off the normal price so I think so but if you don't think that it's a good value then there's your answer.
I actually prefer the Charles Tyrwhitt shirts... Though I haven't had a chance to wear them to the point they should start to show wear, but just in terms of fit and cut, I prefer them.
You should just try a few considering how cheap they are right now on sale: http://www.ctshirts.com/mens-shirts/mens-dress-shirts?q=usddefault|||||||||||||||
Just bought two thanks for the recommendation
I've worn them for years. At most, you'll get pit/collar stains from sweat. They're pretty durable.
Try Saks Off 5th. When they have big sales it can be 3 for 1 (yes I said three (3)). I got Armani and Saks shirts on clearance 3 for $100. Only downside is there's a lot of picking over to do and they might not have their size.
It's a great deal, undoubtedly; definitely a good time to stock up - careful it's summer, don't ruin your shirts by sweating straight through them - don't overwear and get in touch with a good dry cleaner.
Question: does brooks brothers make shirts without pleats on the back? I was told no at one of their stores but it seems hard to believe..
owned both BB and CT, if you're slender go with CT. I personally prefer the collars and cuffs of BB (collars are pointier and have a better spread, and one button cuff is more classic looking imo), but CT fits better. extra slim fit BB is like under armour on me and slim fit is like a poncho, there's no in between.
This is, unfortunately, so true. I started bulking up in hopes I fill out my slim fit shirts from BB better
Yes, I hate this about my dear Brooks Brothers. I'm so stubborn, though, that I wear them anyway....(I don't even know what caused me to be so loyal to BB, but I struggle to stray).
and MBA_Junkie this is another frustrating this about BB. I have never seen any of their shirts (of any style) without the back pleats. Seems so far behind the times to me, but I guess that's what BB is all about.
I recently moved from the standard BB/CT shirts to Kirkland Signature (Costco) ones. They're only $20 a pop and have held up nicely over the past two months. To me, dress shirts are disposable (they all stain eventually), so I try to get whatever is cheapest but still looks nice.
I'm a greasy mofo and I can say you're not trying hard enough or you don't rotate often enough. oxi clean stick and fels naptha will do the work
Not sure where you are, but the Brooks Brothers outlet stores do deeeeeep discounts, maybe even more than 4 for 240. If you're in NYC, there's the Tangers outlet mall on Long Island where it'd be dirt cheap.
I like my Brooks Brothers Shirts. Then again, I'm broad shouldered and slim fit doesn't work on me. Brooks Brothers is great for that more classic look. Personally, I also happen to like the collars.
And definitely check out the Brooks Brothers outlet. If you are based around New York City, take a trip up to Woodbury Commons in Woodbury NY or Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth NJ. They have more than just Brooks Brothers outlets so you may do well in finding something.
thebrofessor Fels-Naptha and Oxiclean? Start Talking 'cause I can't imagine using any sort of Naptha for anything but thinning out oil based paint.
