So, I go to UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago) and I'll have my B.S. in Accounting come 2017.
My main goal is to move to NYC once I finish my undergrad degree.
Now, I'm not talking about getting into I-Banking or working for a Bulge Bracket Bank or Hedge Fund, but will I be able to get ANY degree-related job in NYC?

In all seriousness, it shouldn't be an issue for you to land some kind of job in NYC with an accounting degree. What in particular are you looking to do? Are you wanting to go Big 4, 2nd tier accounting firms, finance related BO accounting jobs? You probably want to line out WHAT you want to do, then make a list of places that cater to that. If you're wanting to do Big 4, I would start reaching out now to recruiters. You may have missed the boat on getting a summer internship, but you might be able to do a winter one or help build some rapport with recruiters come full-time recruiting.
Pretty perfect response there. The only thing I’d is that you should understand if you go Big 4 / regional firm audit you will most likely be traveling during the week and only in NYC on the weekends. Or you’ll be driving all over Jersey or Long Island during the week. If you want to stay in the city during the week you may have to state up front that you want to specialize in the financial services sector.
Just something to consider.
