Building relationships - Supporting application?
If you have a really really good relationship with a vp of a firm and they spend lots of time helping you is it safe to say they will support your application? Even if they do not say it directly?
I am new to the networking business and have a really really good rapport with a vp but not sure if he will help me or not.
Think about this - why would the VP waste his time helping & mentoring you if he has no interest in supporting your application? If I was a IBD VP I wouldn't spend a lot of time helping a college student I have no interest in pushing for a SA spot. If you have "really really" good rapport with the vp, keep talking to him/her and when its time for recruiting season be a little more direct and ask how you can best position yourself to get a SA spot.
