Businessinsider is a Joke
I just stumbled across this post on Businessinsider, regarding "Business terms every MBA should know" and wanted to jab my pen into my eye after reading 1/10th of it. Looks like the "author" pulled it off Forbes (which basically iterated that no one should ever use these phrases), but apparently they did not read the whole article as well.

Thought the general quality of BI was common knowledge?
Media publishes stuff for clicks/reads/publicity. They rarely publish useful stuff.
It's like when you see those experts on CNBC - they talk to bring in views, not to give you any good advice.
BI is hit or miss. Some of the stuff is solid, then they add in a ton of fluff non-sense like this.
Where is "burning the midnight oil"?
bi is the tmz of finance. they ripoff and overdramatize everything...unfortunately it loads way faster than bloomberg on my phone so...
isn't it suppose to be a humor piece?
More like common phrases everybody already knows...
I thought it was really informative. What seems to be the problem? The pictures?
What no "let me drive" or the obnoxious "fire drill!".
I find myself on BI few times a week even though I'll cringe at every article I open up.

^^^A must read
I'm just realizing that Business Insider was taken seriously by anyone. I literally thought it was the unfunny sister of the Onion. They have based a few articles on a few postings from WSO in the last couple of months. HARD CORE JOURNALISM.

Do you think Business Insider is just another web tabloid full of click-bait and lists or does it have some articles of substance?
Its buzzfeed for professionals.
That was my thought as well. Very hit or miss and lots and lots of fluff.

I read Business Insider because it opens me up to stories / articles that I wouldn't read on traditional news outlet sites. That said, there's a ton of fluff and sensationalist titling that gets annoying quickly.
It's more entertainment than news.
BTW, the fact that your asking this question indicates that your not a true nerd.
