Buy-Side Experience, No Undergrad Degree—Ideas?
Title says it all (mostly). I dropped out of undergrad for a couple reasons, the best of which was that I was working part-time for a company that really took off. It's been a couple years, I did pretty well at that company then got an analyst job at a well-regarded L/S fund and did pretty well there, too. Then I got laid off (not performance-related as far as I know).
As it turns out, HR is not all that fond of people with no degree, although usually when I get my résumé in front of an actual hiring manager it's easier.
Any suggestions? Are there any recruiters who specialize in people with weird backgrounds?
Currently I'm doing the network-like-hell thing, which is what got me my first job. And it's going okay, but not great.
