By age 60, how much do you think a career banking would've made?
Im talking about an average banker. Not a Lloyd Blankfein type or Paulson. If you start as a 23 year old 1st year analyst and keep chuggin' till you're 60 and get your promotions like normal(3 yrs as analyst, 4 yrs as associate, etc), how much do you think you would've made? Just wondering...
Holy! if you keep "chuggin'" till you're 60 I think you'd be dead.
if you're still working for 37 yrs from 23 to 60 as a banker you've made some serious problems...
60 in banker years is 247
60?....How many bankers are actually ........50 years old?
Really? How old is the oldest MD at your bank? Sorry I'm not working at a bank yet so I wouldn't know this. At what year does the average career banker retire? Is it 50?

He died of non-hodgkin's lymphoma, not a heart attack, jackass.
the only 60 year olds at my bank are vice chairmen who don't really do anything anymore

(If you think I am serious; kill yourself)
I know a senior advisor at an elite boutique who will turn 81 soon and, like the guy frank_reynolds knows, he doesn't really do much
kinda defeats the purpose of going into finance if you're still working at 81....
Why do they continue to keep him there if he isn't doing much? I know it's a stupid question but really, whatever he's doing, can't another guy do it? Do they keep him there out of respect and the fact he's been there for a long time?
About tree fiddy
Tree fiddy naw? can you believe he made da tree fiddy?
Well I know, but you can at least start at about two quarter or somethin'
?
they keep them there because they are golf buddies with other important people and can bring in business without actually doing any real work
My boss at my first PWM internship was about 83... then again its PWM so guess hes not a "banker"
but he did work though, didn't just sit around
Good to see no one answers the question
