Calling all third years
How are you spending your last months of your analyst stint? Have all of you begun rolling off of projects and accounts that beat you down over the past few years?
I finally used my limited clout to get taken off a few client accounts that involved all pitching and no deals but truly want off everything at this point. I'm 3 months from leaving, nothing I'm working on now could realistically happen - I think it's partially justified (maybe laziness / apathy have gotten the best of me though).
To non or former third-years (who are not returning as associates), how did your last 3 months play out? At which point were you doing absolutely nothing all day?
We don't have a ton of third years - or as least as much as the group used to have - but the ones we do are around for their third year for a reason. Most of them are still busting their asses and doing all nighters with the first / second years.
It seems like it's a good crowd to be a part of. It blows dick doing another year of paid slavery, especially if your bank froze your base, but most of the MD's will actually listen to at least some of the things you say, have to stack deal toys on top of each other because your running out of room on your desk, can shit all over first associates. Not too bad I guess.
