Can I mention the name on the cover letter whom I had a talk with during the info session (without asking for consent)?
I wonder if I can drop the names of some one I had a talk during the info session, which I did not ask a referral from them. Does name drops equal to the referral? One of my friend said you have to ask for consent before put his/her name on the cover letter. Again thank you for your answers.
If you had coffee with him, you can mentioned that you talked to him about the company--not really a direct referral.
Personally, I'm a believer in the motto that silence is consent.
Thanks! What if I only had a talk with him/her after info session?
Probably won't have much weight but you're fine-- you can even mention where you chatted with him if you wanna be extra safe
Think it's fine to mention you spoke with the person as long as you don't frame it as a referral.
Thanks!
Absolutely. It's not a referral. You can mention something he said during your conversation as well. If the person had a favorable impression it may help. If not.....
