Career Dilemma - seeking advice
I want to start off my thanking everyone on this forum for not only being a source of entertainment at times but a source of learning. As a non-target student from a non-business background, I was able to finally break into finance - I now have a full time offer at a upper MM firm as an equity research analyst. Although this is such a great opportunity, I am facing a dilemma for which I would like everyone's input on.
Having had some transaction experience on the buy-side I realized that I want to pursue a transaction focused career (IB, PE, Corp Dev.). I had the FT ER position as a backup plan. That being said, I am contemplating the idea of extending my University studies by 1-2 semesters to lock down a BB SA position. What are your thoughts on this? If I did secure a BB IBD internship, would I be a fool to pass on my full-time offer doing equity research?
