Good afternoon everyone,
I've got a career question for that hopefully you can help me out with. I graduated this past spring from a top 40 school with a degree in engineering and am now an engineer at a F100 company. However, since starting work I've realized that my career ambitions have changed and have become somewhat disenchanted with my current work. My goal is to make a jump into consulting. I want to do work that is more people/business focused (always was torn between engineering and business), and is also more demanding than what I'm doing right now. My question for you is:
1) Has the ship already sailed for me to switch careers now that I'm out of undergrad and don't have access to recruiting?
2) If not, would it be better to stick it out in engineering for a few more years and then try to get an MBA to get into consulting? My concern is that because there are so many consultants applying for MBA spots I might have a better chance at a top program coming in as an engineer.

I'm still a student but my only comment is that you be happy that you even have a job! That said, I've spoke with people who have made the switch after undergrad so it's possible!
You are an engineer at a F100 company, I doubt you wil have any trouble getting into b school. What are you gmats?
