My friend interned with them last summer. She must be really angry now ;)
damn, is that real life.
That's nuts. I'd love to see the contract terms though. My guess is that the $50k requires you to be there 3 years.
$500 paid out over 100 years. If you die then the contract is terminated.

Damn that's nuts.
That cannot be right....
If this is actually true...wow. Never seen anything like it for Analysts. If this is just hoax, best marketing move a bank has ever made. The number of applications for next year just shot through the roof.
Guessing they're having issues with retention due to the 3 year analyst program.
It is BS.
I just confirmed with a friend of mine who worked there this summer. Insane.
Not "too" insane as the firm pays way above street to begin with
What does that mean in numbers?
-
Obviously this is because very very few of their analysts ever stay on for the full 3 years...just look at the past two analyst classes, everyone just leaves after 1 or 2 years
lmao this is insane. some banks are giving belwo $50k performance bonus and centerview gives them $50k signing?
i heard 1st year base is $80, so im guessing like $230k all in? (last years first years got $20k signing, $80k base and up to $100k bonus)
How is the culture at Centerview? Is it a sweatshop?
For that kind of cash I would not care
I second that, I wouldn't complain with that kind of cash my first year. Can anyone confirm?? What were the terms?
Yeah, well I think after 3 months of not sleeping much, you'll change your opinion. If you can't spend your cash with people you care about, you won't be too happy.
Culture is pretty good. The analysts get out on accounts and if that account isn't doing anything, their hours are very good. Only when the accounts start rolling do the hours get bad at all.
Wow that is pretty sick...
Year-end bonus numbers are inflated, but the signing and base are accurate. The signing bonus has a three-year clawback, so it is intended to create greater incentive for the analysts to stay all 3 years. No guarantee that year-end bonuses won't be affected. I think this is a reasonable and effective tactic: good luck finding a PE firm that will cover $50k in clawback for an incoming Associate.
I think after 3 months in investment banking you're not going to be sleeping much either way. Might as well do it for as much money as you can.
That is very true, I give you that...
