CFA Level 3 Candidate having a hard time landing a good job in PWM
Despite having passing the first two levels of the CFA program I've had a hard time finding my way in the industry. I went to a no-name school but had solid internship experience and managed to get into a great PWM job for a bulge firm before the crisis. Was there for over 2 years, but lost my job in later '10 admidst a merger/right-sizing. Did some non-profit volunteering to stay relevant and busy. Since then it's been mostly contract work unfortunately despite passing levels I & II. I get interviews occasionally, but am never chosen in the end despite strong credentials and about 5 years total of PWM. I've done interview practice with people who have given great feedback and made some adjustments to my style with no results. I'm unsure of what my next steps should be. Am I screwed in my pursuit of a good finance job (again)?
