Charles Tyrwhitt Shirts on sale
40 bucks for CT shirts, marked down from 139/159. i personally like these better than brooks bros. can also add pockets if you need em.
since a lot of ppl are starting at banks in the summer, just wanted to give a heads up. its a great price to stock up on some CT shirts. slim fits and non irons are also included in the 40 dollar sale.
Thanks for the tip. Most of the CT dress shirts seem to have cuff links, is that generally ok for the analyst level?
You can get either cuff. Just click on the shirt.
You can get CT shirts with buttons. I found their fit to be weird, but you can return them to the CT store in NYC. I would order a regular and a slim to make sure you like the way they fit first.
CT shirts are ALWAYS on sale. I have heard rumours that there is one store in Canary Wharf that once didn't have a sale for a day, but I have yet to see proof of this. Don't feel that this is a sale you need to take advantage of before it goes away; it will exist as long as CT does. In fact, I think $40 a shirt is more than they are usually on sale for.
They are always "on sale". I think it's just a marketing trick.
Regardless, $40 is a great price for the quality you get, and would stick with these until you upgrade to $200+ shirts (if you ever decide to)
They are like the Jos. A Bank of the UK, always a sale. If you pay full price, you're a sucker
I have a host of CT shirts. The trick with these shirts is to know your exact measurements. They shrink a little in the wash (as opposed to some that shrink considerably), and you need to make certain you know your sleeve length. I've found that if you have an athletic build, even the arms of the shirts tend to be somewhat "baggy". If you go with slim fit whether you are slender or athletically fit, the cut is more flattering.
And to answer a previous poster's question, ALL analysts irrespective of level can wear cuffed shirts. As long as you don't have some absurd shirt color/pattern/collar cut, or diamond stud your cufflinks, (the key is to keep the cufflinks simple and plain), you should be fine. I know some people will jump out and say, "IT DEPENDS ON THE GROUP/FIRM!" No it doesn't.
And yes, I am a self proclaimed fashion guru.
