Christmas Is Around the corner; how are you all spoiling yourselves this holiday season?

Christmas is approaching, and I usually like to spoil myself by treating myself to something nice. Im not sure what I want to get yet, but I am curious to what others purchase for themselves.
Enjoy your holidays monkeys!

I've been wanting to buy an old MIG 21 and learn how to fly it. They aren't too expensive considering you are buying a military jet.

I thought you were just kidding, but you can actually do it. http://www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/MIKOYAN-MIG-…

But are you sure you want to trust your life with Soviet era technology? Can't you find a decent T-38?

That's part of the thrill.

If you want a protip. Buy planes that haven't passed their teardown inspections. Process them for parts and sell for a profit. You need a large cash cushion to start out with but you can make serious bucks doing this. Why? A washer you would pay two cents for at the hardware store is magically "aviation grade" and now costs 5 dollars. Granted you can't actually use that 2 cent washer but you get the idea. A plane might fail this test due to air frame stress fractures that would cost more than the plane would be worth ARV so they scrap it. You can buy a leer jet that has 500k plus is loose parts for under 100k most likely. The aviation industry is insane. I know a guy who has a company that sell aviation fasteners. They do 20MM a year in profits with a staff of 7 or 8.

I buy a few cases of champagne at wholesale, like that I'm never arriving at a party empty handed. You tell a lady friend during conversation that you have more bottles at home, and merry christmas.

'Corruption? Corruption is government intrusion into market efficiencies in the form of regulations. That's Milton Friedman. He got a goddamn Nobel Prize.'

The french side of my family actually produces champagne so I make the trip to France each year to pick some up, so I get that (added bonus of having my family name on it, which is Neuville. Very small producer and not sold outside of the Champagne region of France).

How about Moet, which is simply non-vintage Dom? Don't worry about the year, the newer stuff is equally yummy.

Flake:

I've decided to not kill myself for another year.

I really can't project out a year for me so I'm going to go with 'until the end of the week.'

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..

Going to take a couple days off after the new year and go skiing at a nice resort. There's nothing better than getting a good buzz going and flying down a black diamond. Also, falling right when you get off the lift is pretty fun.

Bought two tuxedos(Single and Double-Breasted, E. Zegna and Belvest), two suits (Grey and Navy, Belvest and Isaia), a pair of shoes (Vass) and a guitar(US Fender Strat). Maybe I'll pick up some bottles of something nice, but that's about it for 2014...

Good call on the Vass shoes. I have a pair myself and love the handwelted construction. I had to source mine through a gray market dealer, though, as Vass shoes are sold at a ridiculous premium here in the US through NMWA, which is the only authorized dealer that I know of in the States. How did you buy your pair? I'm looking to place another order and I'm just wondering if there's another method of buying (I had to pay a pretty hefty customs fee on my first pair).

thebrofessor:

also, I'm buying a whole bunch of drugs, taking a week off work, and binge watching Seinfeld, Vacation, and SNL reruns.

You're my kind of girl.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

A few upcoming concert tickets (Dark Tranquillity/Insomnium, Cannibal Corpse/Behemoth), a few days off in January for a Florida vacation, dinner at Keen's Steakhouse with a few buddies. Life is good.
