Citi Deals
I am trying to find recent deals that Citi has been involved in, and most I-Banks have their recent deals etc listed on their site for each group, but I can't seem to find this for Citi. Does anyone know where I could go to find it, I don't have access to Capital IQ at my school.

Hi,
I was wondering if someone with access to Cap IQ/Reuters etc. wouldn't mind providing some information on deals Citi has been involved in.
Thanks!

Which large deals has Citi been involved in? (Originally Posted: 08/11/2008)
Can anyone name any recently closed $bn+ deals in which Citi was a financial advisor (and whether it was lead/exclusive financial advisor, if known)?
I've worked/am working on 2 ~$10bn pending deals for which Citi is the counter-party, but I find myself on the other side of other banks (mostly Goldman) much more than Citi.
Is Citi's M&A drought what prompted the bank to drop so severely in Vault rankings?
Of course, I'm asking about closed deals, as in-progress stuff is neither guaranteed nor publicly shareable.
Was this just an excuse to share with the world that you're working on two 10 billion dollar deals as a summer analyst?
not a summer, genius. maybe read through my old posts... educate yourself a little.
Sorry I'm not up to date on your career progression. I guess you're still not disputing the purpose of the post, though.
if you read though my old posts, you'd know why i'm asking about Citi.
go get some sckool, kthx.

InBev was a fairly obvious pick... not sure why that site lists all those banks, as I'm pretty certain that only Citi and Goldman are playing significant roles on behalf of Anheuser. The other one that I can think of is the Time Warner spin-off.
I was not familiar with the KKR deal, but I was looking more specifically at M&A, as I'm curious why the bank fell so sharply in both M&A league table and vault rankings...
Sony deal is interesting, but still relatively small... when I think about the larger deals that are in the pipeline(Genentech/Roche, UPS/TNT, Microsoft/Yahoo, Waste Management/Republic, NRG/Calpine, Xstrata/Lonmin, etc.) I can't think of any that involve Citi...
Sorry don't have time to click through the previously posted links to see exactly what is being communicated. A couple of points:
KKR is an M&A deal. To be specific, it is a reverse merger. Read the investor presentation and it should clarify most of it.
Citi's TMT group has been absolutely dominating. Here are some deals that are notable and are 5bn +:
Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc --> InBev 58.9 bn Alltel Corporation, Inc. --> Verizon 28.1 bn Time Warner Cable Inc --> Shareholders 25.5 bn Rohm And Haas Ltd --> The Dow Chemical Company 18.2 bn Electronic Data Systems Corporation --> Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) 13.0 bn Alpha Natural Resources Inc. --> Cleveland-Cliffs Inc 9.2 bn Sprint Nextel Corporation --> Clearwire Corporation 7.4 bn Bolsa de Mercadorias e Futuros --> Bovespa Holding SA 7.3 bn
What is this M&A drought you are referring to? Citi was ranked second last I checked only to Goldman in announced worlwide M&A (merger market). Even Thomson has 2Q08 Citi has second in Worldwide M&A. (http://www.thomsonreuters.com/content/PDF/financial/league_tables/ma/20…)
As per the Vault rankings, I was suprised to see the drop as well. I think the Citi brand name took a bigger hit than the balance sheet these last two quarters. Despite Vault rankings, Citi still dominates many aspects of the market and is comprised of very talented deal makers. If anything, the biggest loss they experienced this year IMHO is losing Michael Klein.
