Citi Will Not Tolerate Your Tardy Ass, But C-on-C Violence Is A-Okay

This was hilarious..

" Citi has a back/middle office in Warren, NJ and also (this'll make sense in a second) buses that go back/forth between there and its other NYC offices for employees.

This dude recently (Thursday) got fired for lateness, but takes company transportation to work everyday, so it's clearly not his fault. It gets better.

Anyway, after getting canned, he goes back to his desk to collect his personal belongings. His boss tells him to GTFO, and that he can't take anything. Guy says to his boss he's only taking personal shit, no company stuff. Boss puts the guy in a chokehold and drops him to the floor before boss's boss runs over and puts a stop to the madness.

Fired guy is suing Citi/the boss, for obvious reasons. Lucky mofo's probably going to make a fortune

Update: "Forgot to add the guy DID call the cops, who came to the office, took his statement and escorted him to his desk to get his shit."

I once brawled with my boss in our CEO's office during a meeting over a trading dispute. We were going back and forth arguing, and things started getting pretty heated when I made a comment about how he was banging one of the ugly trading assistants while he had a wife and newborn daughter at home. I guess he'd had enough of my shit, because he jumped me right in the middle of the meeting. The CEO was there, the two of us, and four other traders.

We went for a good three or four minutes with the other guys just watching and getting out of the way. The CEO was just sitting there laughing. A couple of the other guys finally stepped in and pulled us apart.

We walked out of the office and it was back to business as usual, except that we both had torn shirts and he had a bloody lip.

No one would have even dreamed of calling the cops back then, but by the same token, you could still swing on your boss and not get fired back then if you were a producer.

We had a fights break out on the trading floor a couple times, too. Good shit.

The WSO Guide to Understanding TARP

If people havn't ever heard of warren it's a little ritzy town in Jersey that's mostly old money and does not really carry the jersey stereotype. I lived a couple towns over for most of my life, and most of the people there couldn't hurt a fly. If these were people that lived there I could only imagine in the back of my head how this chokehold could have gone! or it could have been an NYC boss picking on the guy, either way.. he's going to have a huge pocket soon and a good story to tell. Thanks for giving me a laugh today.
