Hello all. I am a first time poster and I would like to get some insight on whether my goals are realistic.

To start off, my name is Cian Lynch. Yes, many people have difficulty pronouncing this. It is a Gaelic name and it is pronounced Key-In. I graduated from an above-average public high school and I am now attending Villanova University.

I am currently in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in Economics. I find economics to be very intriguing and I would love to have a job in this field when I graduate. The kind of job I would like are somewhere along the lines of an economic analyst, consultant, stock consultant or stock broker. I have very good analytic skills and know I would excel in the field of stocks if taught properly. I can totally see myself working on Wall Street in a major consulting firm such as Goldman Sachs or a similar company. My 23 year old brother actually has a job as a consultant at Morgan Stanley, but he graduated from Villanova with a Finance degree.

So here are my questions: 1) Will I be able to pursue this field, despite only having a degree in Economics and not Finance? 2) Will my brother working in Morgan Stanley help me in the future, such as possibly getting an internship? 3) Because my name is hard to pronounce when reading the first time, will this decrease my chances of getting a job or being successful in this field? I happen to be a charismatic individual who stands at 6'2 with a rugby player's build. Once I meet someone for the first time, I am confident I can make a good impression. But I am concerned that possible employers will be turned off when reading my hard to pronounce first name.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this. Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated.
