Cold Calling/Emailing for current openings

Hey guys,

I was wondering, what is the best method to use if you find a job opening on a company’s website; a specific position not an analyst class. Assuming you find people from that groups contact info: 1. Better to call, email or both? 2. If emailing should you: a. make the body of the email short and attach Resume and Cover Letter b. use the Cover Letter as the body and only attach resume 3. What if the only contacts you can find are group heads or MD’s, do they find this annoying? 4. Are positions that have old posting dates even worth it? 5. Any other info would be great.

Thanks!!!
