College Decision

I'm a high school senior looking to find an internship in investment banking in the future. Would it be more advantageous study at the business school of a large public university or to get an economics degree from a liberal arts school?

schools I'm accepted at and considering are U of Michigan, U of Illinois, Hamilton College, and Carleton College among others. Would a school in NY state be big for an internship in NYC? -from Chicago by the way

Michigan is a target school and, assuming you have good stats and relevant internships/extracurric's, should position you well for IB. Also has benefit of placing into both NYC and Chicago IB, depending on where you want to be.

Illinois places OK into Chicago IB, not quite as well for NYC. There's more of a focus on accounting there.

I can't comment on the other two.

Regardless of where you go, make sure you get involved in finance/IB clubs if that's the route you want.
