College student majoring as a statistician

Hey everybody, I'm a college student right now, my plan is to major in Statistics and continue on to graduate school to complete a master's in the field at least. I had some quick questions. What would be a suitable double major or minor? I've considered mathematics, computer science, and economics. I'm not sure which would be best for finding work, and I'm not exactly sure what type of work a statistician would do in the world of business/finance/economics/etc..

I also have a slightly hard to talk about past. When I graduated from high school in '09, I wound up getting in trouble with the law. I ended up going to rehab so that the psychiatrists and counselors could help me get back on my feet again. I think that they helped me out quite a bit, being a support system when my previous one had fallen out from under my feet. I did end up with a slight criminal record that worries me and makes me unsure of whether or not I could do the work that I want to do.

I'm 25 now and trying my best to do well in school despite my handicaps that I must learn to live with. I know that I'm never going to be the best applicant for a job, but this sort of financial work does interest me. As a statistician I wish to somehow be of service to a company, helping them make trades or do some sort of business. I've heard of quants, but I'm not sure if that's where I'd be good at.

I am trying to transfer to either UC Santa Barbra or UC Davis in the fall of next year, and ideally move on to a graduate school after that. I know that I'm old, which causes me to question whether I'm still in it for the right reasons, but I wish to go the full distance so that I could gain as much as possible from my work/education.

Any advice for me would be greatly appreciated. Investment has recently been occupying my thoughts, ever since I downloaded this Robinhood app I've been trying to learn as much as possible trading. I don't know what sort of route statistics could take me, but I imagine that investing could teach me a great deal about the world.
