Comercial Real Estate - Career Change
Hi,
I'm currently in full job search mode. I've worked in wealth management for over 7 years in different capacities ranging from admin assistant, analyst, business development associate, and junior partner/advisor. About 3 years ago I decided to get my MBA at Johnson and Wales and to start steering my career path toward the real estate side of the hospitality business. While working and going to school I continued to help my team develop a unified business model and began tailoring that b-plan to cater to real estate and real estate business owning clients. I've since left the wealth management firm and was working on gaining some industry experience as a revenue analyst in Manhattan (small newly consolidated and rapidly growing boutique hotel company). Unfortunately I was let go as a result of heavy employee departures/turnover.
I'm looking for advice on how best to continue my efforts to build a career in real estate. Ideally I would like to leverage my advisory experience and continue to learn and build strong fundamentals in the hospitality sector. I see myself in a development and financing advisory role in the future, and am eager to start down that path. I am of course open to other real estate asset classes, as I would not want to be dismissive of opportunities or experience.
