[company help], so mysterious, all the PE firms like this???

recently been selected as an intern of a so-called boutique PE firm, these below are several Q&As from the firm, are all the PE firms so mysterious??

Q:How well-diversified is your client base? How is your performence over the past year relative to its peers? What is the Fund’s outlook on the real estate and tech market given the higher interest rates?

A:Answers to the above questions are confidential.

Q:How large is the fund both in terms of permanent staff and assets under
management?

A:Our staff is listed on our website. We have 8 employees and one intern currently. Our assets under management numbers are confidential.

does reluctance in answering these questions show that they are indifferent on their interns???

thanks

I don't really understand your question, but no, it is not uncommon for this type of information to be held very closely. If they had 14B AUM, they probably would not keep it private, but those with under 1B like to keep it private because it could negatively impact their fundraising efforts or bankers taking them seriously.

I don't know why you're asking about their client base...

but if you're asking general thoughtful questions... like...

whats your investment strategy? what industries do you focus on? how do you see the private equity model changing going forward as a result of whats transpired in the capital markets and overall economy over the last 1-2 years? It leaves some room for them to be as general or specific as they want to and they are meaningful, thoughtful questions.
