Compliance analyst position
Hey guys,
If anyone could provide some insight i would really appreciate it.
I have a question regarding a compliance position and execution trader position. I have an opportunity with AQR capital in Greenwich, CT, however there are only a couple positions that aren't computer based on the finance side. One is an investment management and compliance analyst, which is described as:
"You will report to the Head of Investment Management Compliance and Advisory and will work closely with other high level executives across the firm, including portfolio managers, technology developers, traders, risk, and business development.
-Monitor portfolio manager adherence to client guidelines, internal parameters, and statutory requirements
-Develop deep relationships with Portfolio Managers and integrate yourself into the daily portfolio management process
-Foster an environment for information sharing and collaboration with Research & Portfolio Management, Information Technology, Business Development, Risk, Operations, and Compliance & Legal.
-Construct and develop a suite of effective real-time portfolio surveillance and monitoring tools
-Identify, escalate, and assist with resolution of breaches, with an emphasis in process improvement
-Assist in expanding the scope, depth, and transparency of guideline testing
-Proactively respond to business and regulatory changes
-Digest complex concepts into clear and sound advice for dissemination across the firm
-Maintain a deep understanding of the portfolio management and trading processes to be able to identify and mitigate potential risks
-Ensure applicable policies and procedures are adequate and effective and build compliance checklists
-Effectively communicate business needs to IT development team"
The person who i spoke with said that AQR is now encouraging the movement within the firm, and there could be a possibility to move to another area once im in. (I do not know how true that is). The other position she said was an execution trader, whcih I don't know too much about.
I was wondering if anyone could give some adivce regarding the benefits, if any to looking into these positions. Do you think there are any exit opportunities to other Companies or within AQR to move to a more investment based position? Any adivce or insight would be great!
Thanks in advance for reading!
I also just revived more info about a convertible arbitrage junior analyst position as well, so any input on that as well would be awesome!
