Consulting in Random Cities Abroad

Hey, was wondering how the experience is abroad say in a city such as Paris or Madrid or Milano? And if it was any easier to get a position here?

I'd really be up for living in one of those cities for 2 years as a BA and then going for an MBA in the states or UK.

And does anyone have any info on applying to those offices? Is it just as simple as choosing a foreign office on the general application or does one really need to make an effort with the individual team? Oh, and finally are foreign offices normally willing to hire non-nationals?

Thx,

Does anyone know anything

Does anyone know anything about consulting in New Zealand/Australia or Canada? I know a good bit of French, albeit not enough to do business in French.

Oh, I'm not in the job

Oh, I'm not in the job market anytime soon. Probably won't be for another 3-4 years.

...

Nothing happening in New Zealand, most staff out of Sydney. There may be an office or two, but the staffing pool is the same.

Consulting in Australia is the usual MBB with a few smaller regional players. BCG doesn't have a huge presence, but the other two are as in the rest of the world. The class sizes are smallish and very competitive. Active work is done mostly on the eastern seaboard, or on the west if you get some mining/engineering type gig. There is also a lot of travel in to SE Asia.

Any other questions, drop me a line.

What kind of industries does

What kind of industries does Sydney cover? I figured every area has its kind of own "sphere of influence" if you will-I'm guessing SF does a ton of tech work, NY does a lot of financial stuff, Calgary does a lot of oil and gas stuff, you know, that kind of thing. I guess pretty much everything out of Auckland has something to do with kiwis and sheep.

Eastern seaboard-meaning, the Brisbane-Sydney-Melbourne "corridor"? Probably the only place I'm willing to live anyways. I mean, Perth doesn't really have a lot of appeal. :)
