Contact list for cold emailing
I'm currently an associate in Los Angeles and want to transition to an associate position in London. One of the ways I'm planning on going about my job search is cold emailing the London offices of the major banks. I could probably compile a list of contacts at each bank through jigsaw, but this would be pretty time consuming.
Does anyone know if there are contact lists available for purchase? A coworker mentioned to me that a recruiter told him these lists are out there, but a quick google search didn't turn up anything. Thanks.
how about LinkedIN? ... buy the premium account and send Inmails... it'll probably be way cheaper then buying a list off some random person.
I don't respond to cold emails, I delete them. Try cold calling following up with an email and, better yet, a snail mail intro. I keep hard copies of everything on my desk for a while before they meet the round file. That means a mailed letter and resume get my attention multiple times before I call for an interview, file them, or throw them away. I try to keep my email inbox empty. that means I favor the delete button if I have my mind on something more important like a deal.
Phone calls get my attention because they take a little courage. That's how my intern got hired. He called me, I then called his professor, then I made my decision before the interview.
Don't you find it annoying when you get cold called out of the blue? I usually send a warm e-mail (subject: opportunities at XXX (referred by XXX)) and then follow up a few days later with a call if I haven't heard anything back.
I typed up a letter and mailed it to an MD at a super small boutique bank (don't even have a website), then followed by a call. He seemed impressed by my persistence and the fact that I had even heard about the company but wasn't hiring. I was then able to get his email address and forward my resume (last week), but still haven't heard anything since. I'll probably follow up next week or so. It's a fine line between being persistent and annoying.
