Corp Finance is IBD or Accounting?
Why is investment banking considered "corporate finance" while GE FMP and F500 FLDP's are also considered "corporate finance" even though they are just accounting gigs. I'm not a finance major and so I really don't understand why IBD isn't more related to corporate strategy?
My non target has a position for recruitment from a well known financial firm and it is being advertised as "corporate finance" and I don't know what to make it which is why I'm asking. I know that it's not IBD but at the same time, hope it's not back office
corporate finance refers to advising companies on capital structure, acquisition and the like in IB. Corp fin means FP&A, budgeting, corp dev in industry.
