Corporate Strategy Analyst ?
Hey guys, so I'm in my senior year in SoCal (one of the two UCs..) A HR just approached me on LinkedIn. I did some research about his headhunting company and it seems to be pretty legit : Addison group.
He says he's been headhunting for a "fast growing tech company in LA" and here's a general job description and other info:
"on a daily basis you will be responsible for: conducting research on specific areas of technology, participating in company pitches, overseeing deal flow funnel, developing robust investment process, leading in preliminary and deep dive due dilligence, and a number of other responsibilities.
These roles offer strong compensation packages, much better work-life balances than investment banking, and significant upward mobility potential."
so, about how much money do I get (base+bonus) as a corporate strategy analyst? Is this a good field to get some exp and then apply to IB? The idea of IB only occurred to me during the winter break of my senior year so I missed my last shot as an undergrad.
I'm going to apply for grad school this year and I think I have a chance to get into one/some of those target schools.
But this opportunity seems to be enticing.
I'd really appreciate any constructive inputs, but not those inputs like "bump".
Thank you.
bump
Hey man I'd really appreciate some insights
Sounds like an entry level corp dev analyst position. I would assume 60-75k salary, no idea about bonus.
As for experience, it really just depends on the company as well as the people you work under. You could be sitting on your ass working 3 hours a day, or you could actually do some meaningful work. It's really just situation specific.
You may as well take the interview to get a better picture of the company, the position and the people that work there.
Thank you !
Lol friend (at USC) forwarded that same message to me this morning saying he and some of his classmates got "spammed". Told him it didn't look legit. Email said "MD is an Ivy-League graduate" and "better work/life balance than ib." Weird selling points. I agreed that it seems sketch.
Thank you ! So do you suggest talking to him on the phone about this opportunity? I mean after all his company Addison group looks like a big company. (over 1000 employees according to LinkedIn) The headhunters need to protect their reputation right?
Like the above poster said, it wouldn't hurt to follow up. I would just be wary. Good luck!
I got this email as well, analyst here in LA.
The headhunter's company seems legit. I will try to speak to him on the phone briefly and I'll get back to this post.
