Crafting your resume, your GPA, and getting a IB job if you already work
Hey guys I had a quick question I work with a brokerage house on wall St. right now and I'm very happy and feel lucky to have this job.
The firm I work for does have an Investment Banking division, however the location I work in does not have any investment bankers for compliance reasons.
Investment banking has been my passion from the get go, and I need some ideas on how I could craft my resume and how I should approach the endeavor being that I work in a firm already
I graduated about a year ago and my GPA is around 3.4, econ major non target with pre health studies (I did all the pre health classes just didn't take the MCATS after reevaluating my career goals)
I did an internship in a small M&A boutique firm as well for one summer before getting the current gig I have.
I am looking to take part one of my CFA in June and pick up some other certs. as well like SAS stats etc.
My questions boil down to
1) With my experience would I need to add my GPA on my resume
2) How would I go about approaching and making contacts with people in my own firm with the hopes of building a network and not setting off alarm bells that I want to change jobs or positions.
Thank you
