Credit Analayt

I am currently working as the credit analyst for almost a year in a non-American major electronics company. I joined here as it gave me good exposure in financial analysis for small to large corps.
However, I do not see myself working in the credit field for the long haul. Ideally, I would like to work in an IB or PE, but i would like to take realistic strides as well.
Can anyone suggest some career directions where i can use my experience as a credit analyst? Thanks.

How was your experience over at the electronics company? I recently came across a post where a poster from big 4 audit made his way to one of the big 3 ratings agency as a credit analyst. He did mention that jobs there are VERY underrated in this forum, and that he was given tremendous exposure which honed his analytical skills. He made it into investment banking after his 1 year stint in the agency.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I would say my experience has been pretty good so far-the job being my first gig after college. it involved lot of communication with different parties, multitasking and prioritizing different assignments, but more importantly I learned more about few sectors I have worked on and analyzing the companies from credit extension perspective.

I think ratings agency could be good choice considering my background can be relevant. When you say they are very underrated, do you mean just about their popularity?
