Credit Fund to Elite MBA?

I'm currently an associate at a mid-sized credit fund (think CLO's, distressed). I am thinking about applying to business schools next summer and would only go to school if I get into M7. I don't really have a preference which school specifically, just the best school I can get into.

This route doesn't seem too common, as only a few of my colleagues have MBA's. So I'm curious if I should even consider the MBA route if I'm not really looking to change careers.

Anyone out there take this track? Thoughts and advice much appreciated.
