Credit Suisse PE - Opinion on their PE?

Any of you guys have an opinion on CS PE? I have a friend who worked there in 08/09 and said he really hated it. I'm discounting that view though because they laid off a lot of analysts and I know he just had to do tons of crap to keep his job. This was just the environment then.

But then I was talking with a IB analyst who just jumped to the buy side and went through a lot of funds interview process. He said CS PE has a reputation for being the worst to their PE analysts amongst all the BB groups.

Does anyone have any other info, experience or friends that have been involved? I know there are a lot of funds and groups but I'm just interested to get some more opinions.

Thanks

My question was more regarding the corporate culture of CS PE. I'm not interviewing or anything for a specific group so not necessarily theDLJ funds. I would expect all the different funds to have a similar culture given the larger corporate parent. At least that is usually the case in my experience with non BB megafunds. On a side note, to my knowledge CS has the following funds:

Brasil Private Equity Fundo Mutuo de Investimentos em Acoes - Carteira Livre, L.P. - $300, Credit Suisse First Boston Equity Partners, L.P. - $2750, CSFB Fund Investment VII Holdings, L.P. - Launched, CSFB International Equity Partners, L.P. - $608, DLJ Growth Capital Partners, L.P. - $175, DLJ Investment Partners III, L.P. - $1530, DLJ Merchant Banking Partners V, LP - Launched, DLJ Private Equity Partners Fund II, L.P. - $839, N.C. Innovation Fund - $232
